Baby Isaac Brenton Gumm was born on May 8, 2006 at 11pm CT.
He was 8 lbs even, and 20 inches long.
Mom & baby are doing well.
Dad was suffering from blog withdrawal, but he's told that its effects are completely reversible. (I did consider briefly liveblogging the birth, but due to lack of proper equipment, it didn't work out. But since even Challies, the king of liveblogging, didn't bother to do that, so I don't feel so bad).
Pictures are forthcoming.

Congratulations! Let me go on record in favor of having babies! Would you like to know what kind of Bible to give him?
What would Mrs. G. have thought about liveblogging?
Congrats! Do you need my address to send me a cigar?
I think that liveblogging the birth would have come back to haunt you someday when you need to pass a stone or something. You made the right decision.
Now, now, Buggy, that's a pretty paranoid comment.
Congratulations, bro!
(Put me down for the cigar, too!)
Many hearty back-slaps and a big well done for your wife.
I'm considering live-blogging my next birth, should we be so blessed, but I'm thinking it probably wouldn't be terribly coherent..
Congratulations on Isaac Brenton, Matt!
Libbie, it'd be reasonably coherent, just rather redundant after a while:
OUCH! OUCH! Eeeee-YOW!
;^)
Matt,
Congratulations, indeed. Thanks as well for keeping me in prayer--I landed a job this week, and I start in a month. It'll be a big move (4 1/2 hrs away), but we're excited.
It's great to hear that mom and baby are doing well--everyone I know that's had babies recently has had boys!
Congrats! to you guys! :-)
Congratulations!
