Happy Canada Day!

Now, will someone please tell me what Canada Day is?

Oh Matty.... *sigh*

It's an excuse to barbeque, drink stuff, get a sunburn and spend the day at the beach. Or in the woods camping. Or on your deck or in your backyard doing not much of anything. Pretty much like the 4th of July.

And yes, there will be fireworks at dusk at the local park. Bring your own lawnchairs.

I'm not sure, but I think it has to do with the establishment of Canada's first brewery.

Now, now, that's not very nice. Besides, there is far more American beer sold her than you'd imagine. My brothers and father a huge beer drinkers, and they drink American beer. What are you guys doing selling that stuff here?

It's the day Canada finally became a dominion, and was no longer an English colony.

It's the day before Kyle Day, which would be my brother's birthday. And despite what Carla shows at her blog, Mom always did really like him best.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold up. Let me make sure I, as a long-time resident of sunny southern California, heard this correctly: you're saying there are actual "beaches," and not merely miles and miles of grey, tractless ocean or lake shorelines next to frigid bodies of water, in Canada? (Just teasing, of course! ;-) )

Oh, and of course: Happy Canada Day to the great white 51st state, er, I mean nation of Canada! (I'm really gonna get it now...) :-)
