That's a Depressing Thought!

Jonathan Moorhead asks: "Have you ever stopped to think that there are only a certain number of books that you can read in your lifetime?"

Yes, actually, I have. And it's kind of depressing. But unlike me, Jonathan makes some positive suggestions on how to spend the time.

Coincidentally, I was thinking about posting a reading log this year. Watch for it soon.

Yes, I have thought about this. I think about this every time I look at the Collected Works of B.B. Warfield that Buggy bought me for Christmas last year.

It's why I stopped buying books, unless it was for a specific purpose to read now, a great deal, or a reference book that I don't read through like most books.

Yes, I look forward to the list. It had better be good.

Methinks y'all are giving me way too much credit.

I'm almost afraid to post it now, for fear that people will know how superficial and vacuous I really am.

Hehe, even so, sometimes I like "superficial and vacuous" reading material. :-)

BTW, this is addressing a slightly different sort of book list, but I think it kind of applies in general. I really liked what Steve Hays once said: "But the whole point of questions like #8 and #9 (see below) is to give you a pretext to cite some pretentious sounding title in order to show everyone what a towering intellectual you are."

Anyway, I'm sure whatever book list you post will be interesting. :-) Well, just as long as there ain't no books about Gumby and his pony pal Pokey, too. Just kidding. ;-)

The fact that you have a reading list is more than I have--I'm so far behind just on books that people have given me as gifts, I can't justify buying any more books or adding any books to a list I should read.

I'm still trying to get all the way through the Bible for the first time in my life! ha

Though I'm surely interested in your list.
