Miscellaneous

Does anyone else besides me find Doxo's new picture um, disturbing? It freaks me out. On the Creepy Scale, I give it a 9.5. For reference, the Centuri0n's Angry Eybrow would be about a 7, and the gleeful father watching his son bleed would be a 10.

In other news, has anyone been watching men's Curling in the Olympics? I hear I have a twin on the US team. Couldn't find a picture, but if someone has seen it, let me know.

Finally, in honor of Valentine's Day, one of my favorite passages on love:

Set me as a seal upon your heart,
as a seal upon your arm,
for love is strong as death,
jealousy is fierce as the grave.

Its flashes are flashes of fire,
the very flame of the Lord.

Many waters cannot quench love,
neither can floods drown it.

If a man offered for love
all the wealth of his house,
he would be utterly despised.

(Song of Solomon 8:6-7, ESV)

I was just wondering if you were still alive!

My boys curl. They don't watch it on television, though. It's more fun to play.

I trust you were extra nice to your wife on Valentine's Day this year. Buggy brought me home some flowers, although his were handily put to shame in comparison to the ones our daughter's "friend" brought her.

That miscreant is no longer welcome in my castle.

Doxo's picture is like a whacked out version of Nicholson in the shining. "Heeere's Jeremy"

Here's the skip, Pete Fenson. Photos of the other are linked from there.

Kim: It's been busy here at the Gumm household. I've realized this week I've got way to much going, and some things are gonna have to go by the wayside, and unfortunately, blogging will end up being one of them. I'm just postponing the inevitable at this point. It's nice to be missed, but since I've got less than ten frequent readers, hopefully not too many will miss me. As for my wife, she's been sick, but I did spend last evening with her watching the Olympics, and not blogging.

Buggy: I totally agree.

Rebecca: thanks for the skip tip. It was Shawn Rojeski--short hair, beard, and goofy glasses. Oh, wait. My picture doesn't have goofy glasses. I'll have to post one that does.

Why does everyone hate me?
First, it was my mom, then Michael Spencer, and now you. I think I'm going to cry.
Is that what you want? I hope so, because that's what I'm doing right now. It's taking me ten minutes to write this because I can't see through my tears. And I'm shaking.
I hope you're happy.

Asking a Canadian if he has been watching curling is akin to asking an American if he watched the Super Bowl. OF COURSE I've been watching curling. My colleague (our Senior Pastor) was even late to work because he was watching curling yesterday.

Doxo, we don't hate you; we fear you.
