Desperately in need of some practical advice

Son #4, who is 3, has taken to playing in the sink. Filling it up and putting cars and other toys in it. Unfortunately, the playing has now spilled over (pardon the pun) into the toilet.

We would like to extinguish this behavior as quickly as possible, for numerous (and hopefully fairly obvious) reasons. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe give him a swirly?

What's wrong with you? Do you want to squash his creativity? Let him do whatever he wants. Don't be so legalistic.

Never fear, Grandma will be there in two weeks. How wet can he get in two weeks?

maybe give him an acceptable place to play in the water -- a bowl or plastic washtub, or one of those "water tables"...

all of this sounds like good advice... we used one of those shock collar things. Level 2 was usually sufficient.
